Cat Door

Ed's clients have a sweet, shy cat; they were getting a dog, and were unsure whether the dog would get along with the cat.  They wanted the cat to be able to escape, and their bedroom seemed to be the obvious choice.  They bought a cat door and started to install it themselves, and then ... something didn't look right about what they were doing.  They asked Ed to complete the installation for them.

The instructions supplied with the door weren't very clear.  The clients had done what they thought the instructions said to do, tracing around the outside of the cat door, and drilling pilot holes to make the cut - but all this was around the outside of the cat door (upper photo).  Ed cut out the door-portion, and mounted the frame so that the pilot holes are as unobtrusive as possible.

Success - the cat is able to get in and out as she pleases.  We wish we had a photo of her using it, but she didn't want to pose for photos.
